Word Academy Opens Its Doors to Senior High School This September

For years, Word Academy in Zuarungu has been a trusted name for parents in the Bolgatanga East District who want more than just an education for their children — they want a place where faith, character, and academic excellence grow together. From our Crèche to our Junior High School, we’ve walked alongside families as their children took their first steps in learning, sat their BECE, and moved on to the next stage of life.

This September, that journey gets a new chapter. Word Academy is proud to announce the official opening of our Senior High School.

Why This Matters

For many families in and around Zuarungu, sending a child to SHS has often meant sending them away — to a new town, a new environment, sometimes a long way from home. We understand what that means for parents: the cost, the distance, the worry.

Word Academy’s SHS changes that equation. Now, students who’ve grown up in our Christian, values-centered environment can continue that same journey — the same teachers who know their names, the same community that’s watched them grow — right through to WASSCE, without ever having to leave home.

What We’re Offering

Our Senior High School opens with three programs, each designed to set students up for real careers and further education:

• General Science — for students headed toward medicine, engineering, and technology.
• General Arts — for students drawn to law, media, education, and public service.
• Home Economics — for students interested in hospitality, nutrition, fashion, and family and consumer sciences.

Each program combines rigorous WASSCE preparation with the same Christian leadership development that has defined Word Academy from Crèche onward — because we believe academic excellence and strong character should never be separated.

A Modern Learning Environment

Our SHS students will learn in an ultra-modern, state-of-the-art environment — well-ventilated classrooms and modern digital labs designed to give students the tools they need for a world that’s increasingly digital and connected. Add to that our partnership with Angaza Technology and ASON International, which gives students exposure to global learning and innovation beyond the classroom, and you have a senior high experience built for where the world is headed — not just where it’s been.

Admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year are open today. If you’d like your ward to be part of our very first SHS cohort, here’s how to get started:

1. Pick up an admission form at Word FM, Zuarungu.
2. Complete and submit the form.
3. Our admissions team will reach out to confirm placement.
